Curtis Park glass & windows
Curtis Park went up mostly between the 1900s and the 1930s, and a remarkable amount of its original glass is still in place: Craftsman bungalow double‑hungs with divided upper sash, Victorian‑era survivors near the Franklin Blvd side, and the Spanish Colonial, Tudor and Mediterranean revivals of the 1920s with their multi‑paned, arched and leaded windows.
That is why a broken pane here is rarely a shopping trip. The lites are odd sizes, the sash are old‑growth wood worth keeping, and the fix that looks right is almost always new glass bedded into the existing sash rather than a new window in the hole.

The City’s design standards for its historic districts say much the same thing citywide: repair historic windows before considering replacement, avoid vinyl and false divided lites, and where wood windows existed historically, replace in kind with matching material, design, proportion and finish.

We cut each lite to the opening it sits in and bed it the way the sash was built to be glazed. Modern float glass is flatter than century‑old glass, so a single replaced pane in a window full of original wavy glass can look slightly different up close — from the street it reads correctly, and we will point out beforehand where you are likely to notice it.
On most Curtis Park houses, repair. The sash are old‑growth wood, the profiles are part of what the house is worth, and the historic‑district standards specifically ask for repair over replacement.
